About Pacific Coast Excavating

A family-driven excavation company that has spent 25 years earning the trust of the contractors it works for.

With more than 25 years in operation, PCE has built a reputation as a trusted and versatile excavation contractor, delivering work across civil, environmental and industrial projects.

Where PCE came from

PCE was founded by Norm Svensson, whose career in excavation began in a gravel pit and grew into leading operations at Glen Forest Contracting before he established PCE in 2000.

The company is now operated in partnership with Kyle Beaton, who started operating an excavator at five years old with his dad and has 20 years of experience in the excavation industry. Together they lead a skilled, dedicated team with decades of combined experience.

What we do

Our experience runs from residential construction, basement excavation and lot clearing to large-scale civil work including subdivisions and high-rise developments. We have played a key role in specialized environmental projects such as creek restoration, fisheries and habitat work and oil spill clean-up, including remote projects like the bridge installation at Rivers Inlet.

As PCE has grown, so has what it offers: equipment rentals, sand and gravel supply, and responsible soil disposal with full documentation. With a fleet of 17 excavators, we’re equipped for projects of all sizes — and built for the big ones.

How we work

Whether we’re working with large contractors or taking on specialized projects, the focus stays the same: reliable service, skilled execution and results that stand the test of time.

This company has got to be one of the best companies I’ve ever had the pleasure working with and for. They have probably the best operators in the industry and have been mentored and managed by one of the most experienced and talented man that I’ve ever met in the construction world. It’s always a pleasure to work around and be around Norm Svennson and his team.
