Demolition and concrete removal
Breaking out concrete, removing slabs and floors, and getting the debris off site — with the excavation and compaction to follow if the job needs it.
What this covers
- Concrete demolition with excavator attachments
- Warehouse and shop floor removal for new slabs
- Saw-cut and break-out inside buildings
- Asphalt and concrete driveway removal and replacement
- Disposal of concrete and steel
- Recompaction and levelling after removal
Demolition is rarely the end of the job. When a warehouse floor comes out, the base under it usually has to be dug out, recompacted and levelled for the new slab. PCE does the whole sequence and hauls the concrete and steel away.
PCE excavated my warehouse floor in preparation for a new slab. They also recompacted and leveled the floor, and disposed of all the concrete and steel in an efficient, timely manor. We had a tight deadline, as we needed to get the shop back up and running as soon as possible. PCE used proper safety measures and communicated well with my team. I would highly recommend them.

Common questions
Can you take out a warehouse floor and prepare for a new slab?
Yes. PCE breaks out and removes the old floor, digs out the base where needed, then recompacts and levels it for the new slab.
What happens to the concrete and steel?
PCE hauls concrete and steel away for disposal. Broken concrete and asphalt cannot be used as fill on land in the Agricultural Land Reserve.
Do tree rules apply to demolition?
In many cities, yes. Surrey, for example, requires a protection barrier at least 1.2 m high when demolition, excavation or construction is within 10 m of a protected tree and could harm it. Check your municipality before work starts.
Rules summarized here were checked in October 2026. The guides listed alongside link each one to its official source. General information, not legal advice.
