What to send for an excavation quote

The more an excavation contractor knows up front, the fewer surprises in the price. Here is what helps PCE quote a job.

Documents

  • Site plan and grading or civil drawings
  • Architectural and structural drawings showing foundations and underground levels
  • Geotechnical report, including soil types, groundwater and recommended slopes or shoring
  • Environmental reports if the site has any history of contamination
  • Utility locates and any known services crossing the site

Site and schedule

  • Address, or coordinates for remote sites
  • Access: road, barge or air; any weight or width limits
  • Where material can be stockpiled, and where it has to go
  • Start date, duration and any working-hour limits
  • Who else is on site: shoring, piling, utilities

Disposal and materials

Say whether excavated soil is expected to be clean, and whether you need imported sand, gravel or fill. PCE can supply sand and gravel and handles soil disposal with full documentation.

Send what you have to info@digpce.ca or call (604) 835-0066.
